Deputy Managing Director (Operations):

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall direction and leadership for the technical operations of Transmission, Distribution and Engineering Services across the company’s pipeline network.
  • Ensure smooth, uninterrupted and optimal gas transport from sources to consumers while overseeing and coordinating measures to reduce UFG within the company’s franchise areas
  • Plan, guide, implement and monitor new development projects undertaken by the company
  • Assist the MD in maximizing asset capitalization and company’s profitability through timely and efficiently commissioning of new projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce Unaccounted for Gas (UFG) losses throughout SSGC’s franchise, maintaining UFG levels within the international standards and/or as prescribed by regulators and the Board of Directors,
  • Efficiently manage company’s operations within the parameters and directives provided by the MD/Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with regulatory directives while maintaining the production efficiency, quality and cost-effective management of operations.

Experience, Qualification, Skills & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Preference or added weightage will be given to those candidates who in addition have a Master’s or higher degree in Engineering or an MBA from a reputable university / accredited by HEC.
  • A minimum 20 years of work experience, including at least five (5) years in a senior management position within a leading/renowned multinational or corporate sector. Ten (10) years of oil and gas distribution experience with a focus on large infrastructure projects.
  • In depth knowledge of challenges of the gas industry and the functions of the company such as distribution, transmission and engineering services etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the challenges within the gas industry.
  • A strategic mindset and a proven track record of devising and implementing effective strategies.
  • Expertise in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures with the ability to manage resources optimally.
  • Proficient in negotiation and contracting.

Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Services): 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between divisions under the Corporate Services umbrella and SSGC’s Senior Management including the Managing Director, Deputy Managing Directors and Board of Directors.
  • Efficiently lead functionally diverse support divisions / departments such as Procurement and Inventory Management, Legal, Administration, Corporate Communication, Customer Services, IT and Medical Services.
  • Provide full support to DMD or designated Head of UFG in performing functions of UFG department.
  • Responsible for ensuring delivery of adequate support in a timely manner to mainstream operations in order to achieve the desired targets/goals.
  • Assist the MD / Board in the operations of the company by successfully executing the decisions.

Experience, Qualification, Skills & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, law, economics, or engineering management from a reputable university or recognized institution. Preference or added weightage will be given to those candidates who in addition have a Master’s or higher degree in the same disciplines mentioned above or an MBA from a reputable university/ recognized institution accredited by HEC
  • Minimum 20 years of post-qualification work experience, including at least five (5) years in a senior management position within a leading/renowned multinational or corporate sector. Eight (8) years of oil and gas sector experience, with an emphasis on support services and back-office operations
  • In depth knowledge of challenges of the gas industry and different functions of the Company especially supply chain, Corporate Communication, IT, Legal, and HSEQA
  • Comprehensive understanding of the challenges within the gas industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution, policy formulation and Standard Operating Procedure development.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and contracting.
