Job Purpose

Provide process safety guidance and support in order to achieve consistent Process Safety Management across Engro Business Units in line with “best in class” international Standards

Description

Performance Indicators

  1. Possess and maintain “cutting edge” process safety expertise and know how.
Able to provide solutions for process safety aspects at Engro BUs
  1. Identify and document process safety hazards that exist in ECorp BU Operations
Maintain Hazards Register and update on an on-going basis

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators 2/4

  1. Roll out of DuPont Risk-Based Approach
Ensuring that the right methodology is utilized in MAH interim review sessions & providing HSE perspective in the studies
Ensuring that the right methodology is utilized in HAZOPs revalidation/baseline HAZOPs & providing HSE perspective in the studies
Carry out Risk-Based Assessments of Engro BUs
Training/guidance of resources on DuPont RBA

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators 3/4

Develop and implement ECORP Process Safety Standards in line with “most stringent” international Standards and best practices to manage hazards identified Implementation of “world class” process safety management system in Engro BUs to manage hazards
Conduct audits to measure the effectiveness of the Process Safety standards implementation by BUs and categorize areas of improvement Availability of schedule for audit cycle and audits are conducted as per agreed timelines. Audit findings are appropriately closed-out in timely manner. Process Safety Standards are revised, as required.
Analyse process safety trends and recommend appropriate corrective actions  Prevent occurrence of process safety incidents with adverse outcome through proactive adjustment
Develop training matrix to achieve the required level of process safety skill and knowledge in BU personnel Process safety training requirements are identified for BU personnel and follow up is maintained to enforce compliance

  1. Identify process safety assessment for projects and participate/facilitate.
Process safety assessments are conducted in line with approved methodology and recommendations are implemented.
  1. Manage the functionality of the OPERA online process safety management, reporting and recordkeeping system and ensure correct use by BUs.
Ensure effective functioning of the OPERA system and utilization by BUs in line with agreed protocol.
  1. Manage 3rd party service providers to fulfill the process safety needs of BUs
Professionally competent 3rd party service providers are utilized to achieve high quality process safety support

Well-versed in managing and evaluating the applicability of safety/risk studies in plant and projects.

Able to participate in accident investigation and 2nd Party Safety audits.
Maintain on-going oversight on subsidiaries’ Safety performance and intervene with advice in areas requiring improvement.
Use API 754 for establishing KPIs and Lagging and Leading Indicators. Publish Engro-wide trends to keep BU and Engro Board informed about areas requiring improvement

Process and operations knowledge related to Engro operating facilities

Education & Technical Qualifications

Bachelors in Chemical Engineering

Certifications

Professional Experience

At least 10 years of HSE experience supporting Operations and/or Projects, such as plant or process engineering, project design, execution, engineering and/or technical service roles in fertilizer/petrochemicals/refinery industry.  Participated in PHA studies as member.
