Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
Basic Function:
The primary responsibility of RSM is to plan, organize and direct the Regional Sales organization through the Area Sales Managers to achieve the Regional product sales objectives in an ethical and cost effective manner.
Operations / Job Responsibility:
· The incumbent particularly ensures that HSE standards are maintained at the highest levels in his region. Â
Through development and execution of HSE policies and plans within the Region.
· Develops in consultation with the HSE Coordinator as appropriate, personnel development and training plans on HSE and appraisals for the Regional Marketing Team.
· Ensure that MSAs are carried out at various levels as per plan and MSA observations are resolved in stipulated time at each level.
· Ensures that all Safety incidents are promptly reported as per the given guidelines / company policy.
· Ensure that NEQS compliance check is carried out for all vehicles assigned to the Zone on periodic basis.
· Steward Quarterly Vehicle checklist status, MSA items and HSE training status on periodic basis.
· The incumbent has lead in establishing standards of ethical performance for his Region.
· Ensures that the Regional Sales Objectives for Urea, DAP, NP Plus and Zorawar are met at the planned NSR levels.
· The incumbent continuously makes assessment of market situation, competitive strengths and weaknesses, governmental policies and decision affecting fertilizer sales and agriculture.
· The incumbent is also actively involved with Brand Development department in assessing and developing strategies for improving the brand equity of Company’s fertilizer products.
· He develops policy recommendations for review with Management regarding: Strategies to effectively meet competition to maximize sales, improve / maintain market shares, product pricing to achieve the planned NSR for all products.
· Continuously evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of the strategies and policies in consultation with the Area Sales Managers to counter competition Plans and develop accurate cost budgets for the Zones and steward performance against these parameters
· Evaluates and review the Regional Sales organization regularly to ensure that the optimum level is maintained in order to meet the Operational & HSE objectives and recommends where appropriate, shifts in manning, geographical location, individual personnel to optimize effectiveness
· Ensure projects and implementation of process change as per plan in the Region.
· To respect and work within the assigned budgets.
· Ensures that formal training of Regional Marketing Team is carried out as per plan.
· Develops in consultation with HRD as appropriate, personnel development and training plans, appraisals for the Regional Sales Team.
· Ensures that on the job training is carried out for new hires
. Ensures that all KPIs related to introduction and execution of technology are met.
· For new hires ensure availability of framework / platform for understanding Company policies on HSE, Ethics, Best Practices, Cardinal Rules and Operational Policies among team members
