Psychology Jobs in Pakistan

Are you interested in working in the field of Psychology? Here are some job openings that we found on our website jobspakistan.co/jobs-in-psychology-in-pakistan/

Here’s how to get started.

In Pakistan, the number of psychologists has increased from 2,500 in 2000 to
5,000 in 2022.
The demand for psychological services is growing rapidly in Pakistan. There are
currently around 5,000 psychologists working in the country. However, there are
many other professionals who work in the field of psychology such as social
workers, counselors, psychiatrists, and clinical psychologists.

In order to become a psychologist in Pakistan, one must first complete a
bachelor’s degree in psychology from a recognized university. After completing
the degree, candidates must then pass the Professional Psychology Examination
(PPE). Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have completed at least two
years of postgraduate study.

The PPE is administered by the Psychological Society of Pakistan. To take the
exam, applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, a resume, and a
copy of their transcripts. Applicants must also provide proof of their age,
citizenship, and residence.
The PPE is offered twice a year at the University of Karachi. The first test
session begins in January, while the second session starts in April. The exams
last two days, and candidates must score at least 70% to pass.

The PPE exam is designed to assess students’ ability to apply psychological
principles to real-life situations. Candidates are tested on their knowledge of
cognitive processes, personality traits, social behavior, and emotional
responses.

If you want to become a psychologist, there are many different ways to go about
it. You could enroll at one of the top universities in the world, such as
Harvard University, Stanford University, or Yale University. Or, if you prefer
a less expensive option, you could attend a local community college or
university. In either case, you should be aware that the process of becoming a
licensed psychologist is long and arduous. To qualify for licensure, you must
complete four years of undergraduate study, followed by two years of graduate
school. After completing your studies, you must pass the Professional
Psychology Examination (PPE) administered by the American Psychological
Association.

The PPE consists of three parts: the Multiple Choice Test, the Clinical
Interview, and the Psychoanalytic Essay. The Multiple Choice Test requires
candidates to answer questions based on clinical cases presented in the exam
booklet. The Clinical Interview involves a series of questions designed to
assess the candidate’s ability to conduct psychotherapy sessions. Finally, the
Psychoanalytic essay asks candidates to analyze a case from the perspective of
psychoanalysis. Candidates who successfully pass the PPE are then eligible to
take the National Board Examinations (NBEX). These examinations consist of
multiple choice tests, essays, and viva voce interviews. Successful completion
of the NBEX allows candidates to apply for certification as a licensed
professional psychologist.

Pakistan was the sixth country in the world to sign and ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, less than one year after it was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. However, children and adolescents living in Pakistan still face acute challenges.
